Living Labs in Amman offered youth a practical and engaging space to design environmentally focused business ideas while mastering the Business Model Canvas. To make the learning highly interactive, the canvas was printed in large format and used as a central visual tool throughout the sessions. Trainers guided participants through each component—value proposition, customer segments, key activities, partners, resources, channels, cost structure, and revenue streams—explaining the purpose of every section and demonstrating how to fill it effectively.
This step-by-step breakdown helped demystify the business planning process. Youth learned not only what each part of the canvas represents, but how the pieces connect to form the foundation of a strong business plan they can build later. The printed canvases allowed participants to brainstorm freely, test ideas, and visually map out their concepts in a structured way.
The labs also emphasized environmental relevance. Participants who entered with existing green ideas received support to refine and strengthen them, while those without a concrete idea engaged in guided activities to develop new, eco-friendly solutions from scratch. With hands-on facilitation, each idea—whether new or already formed—was shaped into a clear, viable model that responds to environmental challenges in Jordan.
The environment was inclusive and collaborative, encouraging youth to ask questions, debate options, and learn from real-life examples. By the end of the Living Labs, participants had developed complete Business Model Canvases and gained the confidence and skills needed to turn these concepts into full business plans in the future.
